Bonner Dear Highview Families, I am thrilled to report that our Highview family had a wonderful first week back in school! Thank you for engaging in the home learning plan this week. My heartfelt thanks goes out to you for a successful and safe arrival and dismissal. I am happy to report that we were able to enjoy “ Outdoor Dining ” in the beautiful weather and we will continue this as long as the weather permits. Our teachers have been working around the clock to bring you our new online learning platform to support the Hybrid and 100% Virtual models. The platform uses the learning management systems, Schoology and SeeSaw . We ask for your patience over the next two weeks as we teach the children how to navigate the technology. There will be a learning curve and as with most technology, issues will arise and we will do our best to address them in a timely manner. Please remember that our teachers are not available during the day to answer questions as they are teaching their students who are in person. Email communication will be the most efficient way to ask questions at this time. Live-streaming lessons begin on Monday, September 21 st ! Please review your child’s schedule carefully so that they do not miss the live streams. This is where students will be learning the new learning platform. This is also when students receive directions regarding the work they are to complete during At-Home learning. Please review the Zoom Protocols with your child and remember to be patient, as the live lesson may not begin as soon as you enter the meeting. Modifications to the schedule may take place as we work through the first week of live-streaming. We will keep you informed of any changes. Please remember School Picture Day is Monday, September 21 st for Group A-L and Friday, September 25 th for Group M-Z. If your child is 100% Virtual, picture day is Wednesday, September 30 th . Please see the flyer in the Digital Backpack with signup information. If your child is NOT participating on a virtual learning day, please follow our Attendance Procedures and call the main office or email Margie Campbell at mcampbel@nanuetsd.org to let us know that your child will be absent on that day. I am so proud of our Golden Knights for following the social distancing, hand sanitizing and mask wearing protocols. They were amazing! Turn left onto Rt. 59 E. Turn right on to S. Middletown Road. Turn left onto Church Street. Take the 1 st right onto Highview Avenue. 24 Highview Avenue is on the left. From the South I-87 North (New York State Thruway) towards the Tappan Zee Bridge. Take Exit 13S (Palisades Pkwy South) to Exit 8W (Rt. 59 W) toward Spring Valley. Merge into left lane and at traffic light turn left onto Smith Street. Smith Street becomes Church Street. Continue on Church Street to Highview Avenue and turn left. 24 Highview Avenue will be on the left.
